The DevOps Engineer will work closely with the development team acknowledging the interdependence of software development, QA and IT operations. This position will work with infrastructure teams and systems to ensure quality deployments, overall application health and performance. They will also promote initiatives to aid with software development productivity and improve operational performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Help build the architectural runway. Key challenge is provisioning environments before delivery team needs them.
- Able to install and configure products including mongoDB, Tomcat, and Documentum products in Test and Production environments.
- Able to work with computer services to request right services
- Work closely with Development Leads to analyze, review and clarify design and architecture on Tools implementation, Build and Deploy automation.
- Build, automation, release engineering, or deployment
- Support DevOps (Development Ops) - key challenge is to automate our delivery and test process
- Able to develop scripts that automate development processes.
- Able to develop scripts to copy or generate test data
- Establish development infrastructure - being in charge of version control, build management, deployment management, dependencies management, continuous integration and delivery, etc.
- Use best practices for organizing developers environment.
- Monitor Quality Assurance of development processes - gathering metrics of development effectiveness, working on eliminating bottlenecks of development process (running unit-tests, evaluating unit-tests coverage, running inspections, etc)
- Monitor Infrastructure - target platforms and its specifics.
- 5+ years in the software engineering profession
- 2+ years of experience with continuous integration
- Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
- Experience with automation/configuration management
- Strong experience with build scripts
- Knowledge of CI (Continuous Integration) and CD (Continuous Deployment) methodologies
- Work with support teams to identify and implement automation in appropriate areas
- Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
- Bachelor s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong familiarity with SCM, GIT, SVN, , including branching and merging strategies
- Experience with Ant or Maven
- Experience with Jenkins
- Healthcare industry experience
