This role is responsible for influencing and executing the organizations multi-year DevOps strategy of creating resilient, scalable, and efficient build and deployment pipelines & platforms.
What you will be doing:
We are seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Architect to join our growing team.
As a DevOps Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure and processes that enable continuous integration, continuous delivery, and efficient software development practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, system administrators, and operations teams, to ensure the seamless integration of development and operations activities.
Penske Responsibilities:
• Overall responsibility for design and implementation of robust and scalable DevOps infrastructure, including automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies across the enterprise including Cloud & On-Premises
• Lead & support global DevOps engineering teams
• Collaborate with development teams to define and implement best practices for code integration, branching, and version control
• Implement unified access controls and authentication mechanisms to manage user access to DevOps tools, systems and environments
• Assess and implementation of automated security testing and code analysis to ensure secure coding standards are integrated throughout the SDLC
• Work with web & cyber security teams to define application vulnerability assessment and remediation processes
• Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies for DevOps practices, ensuring compatibility and efficiency across the development lifecycle
• Drive the adoption of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, to enable scalability, resilience, and portability of applications
• Lead the implementation and configuration of monitoring and logging systems to ensure high availability and performance of applications and infrastructure
• Develop and maintain documentation for DevOps processes, procedures, and architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members
• Identify and resolve technical issues related to infrastructure, deployment, and release management in a timely manner
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define “security as code” standards to enable security and compliance within the DevOps environment
• Mentor and provide guidance to software engineers and operations teams on DevOps best practices, automation, and deployment methodologies
• Automated collection of audit & compliance artifacts. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI DSS, SOX & GDPR
• Other duties as assigned
Penske Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years’ industry experience designing & implementing complex software systems
• 5+ years’ experience as an DevOps Engineer
• 2+ years leading organizational implementations of DevOps platforms and pipelines
• Proven experience as a DevOps Architect or similar role, designing and implementing DevOps practices in complex software development environments
• Strong knowledge of DevOps principles, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure automation
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, OpenShift or Tanzu
• Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Hands on experience with cloud infrastructure a plus
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
• Deep knowledge of Agile principles and practices and the ability to transfer that understanding at all levels of the organization
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus
