The Development Staff Accountant (DSA) supports the Development Finance Manager in planning and reporting capital project expenditures for Westgate Resorts. This role involves collaborating across departments, serving as a liaison between Development Project Managers, Contract Administration, Corporate Accounting, and Resort Accounting. The DSA ensures accurate financial reporting and supports budget and forecast assumptions throughout the capital project lifecycle. Responsibilities include cash flow planning for Developer Capital and HOA Reserve spend, month-end reconciliations, journal entries, and calculating Percentage of Completion. Additionally, the DSA manages Developer fixed assets and inventory transfers upon project completion, updates the Reserve asset database for long-term planning and annual HOA budgets, and provides top-tier customer service and financial support for construction projects. The candidate must maintain a professional image, handle high visibility interactions, and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Assist Manager with the monthly close process - includes preparation of journal entries (i.e. capitalized interest, manual depreciation), Inventory and PP&E WIP reconciliations and roll forwards
• Produce quarterly Depreciation Expense forecast and support the monthly cash flow forecast process for Developer and Reserve capital projects
• Participate in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting of Developer and Reserve capital spend with related variance analysis
• Act as a key point of contact for on-property accounting staff and resort operators to effectively coordinate HOA Reserve spend while providing training and support on new processes
• Identify opportunities for day-to-day process improvement within Development Finance
• Work with Systems support team to maintain continuity during upgrades and implementations and enhance functionality within the Projects modules
• Support departmental deliverables related to interim and year-end audit
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures and practices.
• Assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.
• Must comply with all CFI policies and procedures.
• Must represent Westgate Resorts in a professional manner through appearance, dress, and professional behavior at all times, as dictated in the Associate's Handbook.
• Must work diligently to gain knowledge and experience to execute the role to its full potential.

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting
• Hospitality industry experience preferred
• Experience in Oracle Fusion or similar ERP preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Financial project management experience a plus
• Fixed assets experience a plus
• Project controller experience a plus
• Strong ability to develop partnerships with internal clients/others
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize work
• Ability to work in a team to achieve departmental and corporate goals
• Adaptable to a fast-paced environment
