Position Overview: The Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation is seeking an experienced and dynamic Development Director with a focus on Major Gifts to join our leadership team. This role is critical in driving our fundraising efforts and expanding our network of major donors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in securing significant gifts and building strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals. The Development Director will also supervise and work closely with the Grants Manager and Communications Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Major Gift Fundraising: Develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts ($25,000+). Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.
- Donor Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with current and potential major donors. Provide exceptional stewardship to ensure donor satisfaction and continued support.
- Campaign Management: Lead major gift campaigns and initiatives. Collaborate with the senior leadership team to align fundraising goals with organizational priorities.
- Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive major gifts strategy. Utilize data-driven approaches to enhance donor outreach and engagement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Board of Directors, senior leadership, and development team to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals. Support the planning and execution of fundraising events and activities.
- Reporting: Monitor and report on fundraising progress. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of major gift strategies and adjust as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit development, with a focus on major gifts and donor relations.
- Proven success in securing major gifts and managing donor portfolios.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Passion for the mission of the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation and a commitment to supporting the Hispanic community in Detroit.
