Development Associate - Prodeo Academy

Position Overview:

Prodeo Academy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development Associate to join our team. The Development Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the fundraising and development initiatives of our organization. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and nonprofit work to make a meaningful impact in the lives of kids in the Twin Cities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with donors, sponsors, and supporters through timely communication, acknowledgments, and stewardship activities.
• Fundraising Support: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of our annual appeal, fundraising events, and campaigns. This includes coordinating logistics, managing RSVPs, and providing support during events.
• Grant Research and Writing: Conduct research on potential grant opportunities and cultivate relationships with foundations to assist in the development of grant prospects. This may involve gathering relevant data, drafting narratives, and preparing supporting documents.
• DonorPerfect Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in DonorPerfect. Ensure data integrity, perform regular updates, and generate reports as needed to support fundraising efforts.
• Communications Support: Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to create compelling content for donor communications, including newsletters, impact reports, and social media posts. Help ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms.
• Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the development team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and managing correspondence. Assist with mailings, filing, and other office tasks as needed.
• Prospect Research: Identify and research potential donors, sponsors, and partners. Compile comprehensive profiles including relevant background information, philanthropic interests, and capacity for giving.
• Volunteer Management: Play a vital role in recruiting, coordinating, training, tracking, and recognizing volunteers who contribute to the success of our school.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the development team, as well as colleagues from different departments, to achieve fundraising goals and objectives. Collaborate on special projects and initiatives in other network areas as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, business administration) preferred.
• Previous experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related field is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the organization's mission and impact.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (Excel), and database management software (e.g., DonorPerfect).
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
