Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) is a non-profit organization and the most active and effective pro-liberty youth organization advancing liberty on campus and in American electoral politics. Our four-step mission is to identify, educate, train, and mobilize youth activists to make liberty win. We value personal liberties, free speech, and limited government.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE
This role is a 3-month program focused on training the Development Associates on the skills they will need to be successful in political fundraising. The Young Americans for Liberty team is determined to help you unlock your skillsets and expand those skills to be effective in a highly motivated environment focused on raising $15 million a year.
The day-to-day of the Development Associate will be focused on thanking current donors for their support, researching & prospecting new donors to be added to YAL's portfolio of donors, and copywriting proposals & reports to be used by the Development team.
YAL is always looking for talented fundraisers, so long-term opportunities are available after the completion of the Associate program. But even outside of YAL, development skills are always highly sought after & valued positions in any political organization.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE
- Professionalism and trustworthiness.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills.
- The ability to develop genuine relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and viewpoints.
- The ability to work independently, establish personal goals, plans, timelines, and meet expectations under pressure.
- Passionate about limited government, fiscal conservatism, and individual liberty.
- The desire to pursue a career in liberty politics.
- CRM experience.
