Position Summary: This individual will be part of a software development engineering team responsible for analyzing, developing, testing, implementing, and documenting software enhancements and fixes to a large application. The application is a critical, Tier 1 application, and is used 24/7.

Position Summary: This individual will be part of a software development engineering team responsible for analyzing, developing, testing, implementing, and documenting software enhancements and fixes to a large application. The application is a critical, Tier 1 application, and is used 24/7.
Responsibilities
- Codes software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers. Standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software.
- Oversees testing and develops fixes. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 5years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude required. Typically reports to a project leader or manager.
Major Duties
- Provide Active / Active HA for Geocoding
- eLoc Data Grid
- Interact with Project Manager to understand requirements and scope the systems
- Participate in unit, integration, and system test procedures
- Write and manage cron jobs for a large application
- Read and analyze application level synthetic monitoring
- Use monitoring tools like Zabbix, Client, NSG, App Dynamics, Wiley
- Hands on experience with manual and automated software deployments
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Handle multiple tasks - ensure that tasks are being completed in timely manner with limited direction
- Participate in team meetings to discuss approaches to current projects
- Comply with all established procedures and policies of Comcast
- Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance
- Other functions that may be assigned
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- 2 - 5 years experience in Java, HTML5, JavaScript programming (Junior to Senior level)
- 2 + years experience with MySQL, Oracle, PL/SQL and JDBC
- 2 + years of experience Unix and Unix shell scripting
- 1 – 2 years experience with monitoring tools such as Wiley, App Dynamics
- Experienced L2 support with the following specific experience
- Weblogic support
- Apache Tomcat
- JBOSS
- Oracle DB monitoring support
- Golden Gate
- Deployment support and automation.
- Automated builds and deployments (Puppet, Jenkins)
- Oracle SQL, Unix shell scripting.
- Experience with automated build environment, Jenkins, Maven or Ant
- Experience with high transaction volumes, high data through put
- Strong problem solving skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strict adherence to development standards
