- Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Provide technical expertise in analysis, configuration, implementation, documentation, and ongoing support for all Clerks Office desktop hardware/software systems.
- Follows procedures for reporting and insuring timely response to network and personal computer operational problems.
- Responsible for assigned areas of installed base of personal computers, printers, and third-party application software on workstations.
- Support network printers and printing functions.
- Makes recommendations for repair needs and ensures that problems are corrected whether done internally, through County IT support, or vendor support.
- Meet with Personal Computer users to discuss and evaluate their computer needs. Evaluate individual users’ needs and suitability for personal computer application. Report needs to Manager in a cohesive and logical manner.
- Provide minor training to PC users, either in group training or individual training formats.
- Act as backup for Clerk Help Desk as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory of hardware/software.
- Works with Clerk's Information Technology staff to ensure the desktop environment is consistent with the Clerk's objectives and is compatible with existing applications and security requirements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of disaster recovery procedures for the desktop resources
- Performs related work as required.
- Some overtime may be required.
- Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- A+ certification or similar strongly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of standard Personal Computer and network equipment used in the Clerk's Office.
- Knowledge of a wide range of user software and hardware including MS Windows and MS Office products.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to research and understand policies and manuals to ensure compliance in the areas of information system implementation and accountability
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities while meeting critical deadlines
- Ability to communicate well with people from varied backgrounds.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements and workload.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and to remain calm in an anxious, intense environment
