Responsibilities:
In your role as a Desktop Support/Helpdesk professional, you will:
1. Provide top-tier support for all technical queries, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues across Windows 10 and Mac OS environments.
2. Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance over the phone, email, or chat.
3. Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
4. Walk the user through the problem-solving process, providing clear and concise instructions.
5. Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
6. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the applications and systems our company utilizes.
7. Maintain daily performance of computer systems, responding to technical queries, running diagnostic programs, isolating problems, and implementing solutions.
8. Assist in the implementation of new applications and systems, training users as necessary.
9. Maintain a record of day-to-day IT issues and resolutions, ensuring a swift response to recurring problems.
10. Collaborate with the IT team to ensure the company's technology infrastructure aligns with its needs and runs efficiently.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the Engineering industry.
2. Proficiency in Windows 10 and Mac OS platforms, including troubleshooting and user support.
3. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
4. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for conveying technical information in user-friendly language.
6. Experience in training users on new systems and applications.
7. Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
8. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
9. A keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong ability to work under pressure.
