prosource.it is a global IT Managed Service provider working with Medium to Enterprise level, global clients and is looking for IT Desktop Support Technician(s) to assist in a short-term installation project. The project is forecasted to run for 12-14 weeks, will offer successful candidates an opportunity to work with a major oil and gas organization, as well as experience in the fast-paced environment of IT infrastructure

OVERVIEW:
We are looking to hire a skilled IT Desktop Support Engineer(s) to support an IT project for one of our major oil and gas customers. Successful candidates will form a team that supports all IT desktop installations. The successful candidate will be expected to join the team onsite at the energy corridor Houston office. This is not a remote or hybrid role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Installation and setup of Monitors and workstations
· Unboxing monitors, keyboards, mouse, and camera(s)
· Logistically moving monitor boxes and other inventory
· Following a predefined process
· Diagnose and resolve IT incidents. Some examples include:
o Printer related issues
o Connectivity
o Software related issues
o Operating system
o Screen / monitor configuration
o Installation of peripheral components
o Escalation to appropriate party where appropriate
o Ownership of issue
Requirements
An effective Desktop Support Specialist must be great at communicating with team members in person and over the phone. They should also have empathy, patience, and skill to understand and resolve the customer’s problem.
Critical thinking, and strong problem-solving abilities are a key component of success
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
1-5+ years of IT Desktop Support experience (Entry Level preferred)
Computer setup skills
Strong communications skills
Highly motivated, self-reliant, problem solver
Enthusiastic with a questioning and challenging attitude
Strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to make rational decisions under pressure
Proven ability to work within a team
