ThePhiladelphia CommercialProduct Design team isseekingacreative andtalenteddesigner tojoinourteam ofcommercialflooringdesigners,collaborate closely with cross-functional internal and external teams, and partner with local and global vendors.  

Reporting to the Philadelphia CommercialSenior Design Manager, theHard SurfaceDesignerwillidentifytrendsanddevelopinnovative product conceptsthat translateintomanufacturedhard surfaceflooringsolutions forcommercialspaces.This individual will bringastrong understandingof flooring materials, design principles, and construction techniques tocarrythe design process from concept to completionforproducts that resonate with the brand ethos, and consumer and market trends.Thesuccessfulcandidate willbecollaborative,haveexceptional design acumen, anda track recordof delivering successful projects on time and within budgetthroughexcellent communication and project managementskills.TheHard SurfaceDesigner should havea fullunderstanding ofthe requirementsforrotogravureprintingand digital printing processes. 

KeyResponsibilities: 

• Complete design research and createvisualsforhard surfacecategories in alignment with the brand strategy and multi-year product plan  

• Responsible for design and colorations ofhard surfaceflooring visuals from concept to completion, including the concept design phase, continuing through thedevelopmentand manufacturing phases, as well as supporting the development of marketing materials 

• Ability to translate consumer dataand feedbackinto acommercial flooringproduct designconcept   

• Collaborate withvendorsto bridge the design and manufacturingprocesses,ensuring keydeliverablesare completedon time and onbudget 

• Manageownworkflow, prioritizing projects to align with brandinitiatives andmarket launch schedules 

• Clearly and effectively present and communicate the product design vision and product offerings to customers, sales teams, and management 

• Position requires the ability to work globally on occasion, traveling internationally to workwith vendors and attend trade shows in Asia and Europe, as well as domestic travel 

• Ability tosuccessfullynavigate ambiguity  

• Ability to work and influence cross functionally with Marketing, Innovation, ProductDevelopment, and external/international partners & vendors.  

• Understand brand strategy and how to design productswith appeal to multiple marketsegments  

• Conductmarketresearch in color and design trends, create product presentations, engage in customer feedback sessions, andparticipatein trade shows to keep the brand at the forefront of innovation and consumer preferences  

• Participate in customer interactions such as customer tours, focus groups, and other product presentations  

• Demonstrate a creative approach to all tasks with the ability to manage multipleprojectsusing excellent time management skills  

• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, creativity, and open communication among team members  

• Cultivate andmaintainstrong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners,representingPhiladelphia Commercial’s designexpertiseand capabilities

• This position reports to theSenior Design Manager– Philadelphia Commercial 

Requirements:  

• Four-yearcollege degree and/or advanced degree in a design-related field  

• Must have excellent Photoshop skills.AVA CAD/CAM skills are desired  

• Experience withmainstreetbrands is preferred and will be an important part of the position 

• Extensive knowledge of flooring materials,coloranddesign principles, and construction techniques  

• Full understanding of pattern creation requirements forrotogravure and digital printing processes  

• Strong collaborative leadership abilities 

• Excellent project management skills 

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to work globally
