A Cleveland Manufacturing Company is seeking a Design Project Engineer.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline.
- 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment (Forging experience preferred)
- Must have experience/ability to manage projects.
- Must have excellent multitasking skills.
- Must have excellent analytical skills
- Experience/Knowledge with 3D CAD (prefer CATIA V5 or Creo Pro-Engineer but Solidworks is also accepted)
- Experience with stress/strain, deformations, and thermal distributions.
- Must understand all pre-processing concepts such as boundary conditions and meshing.
- Must understand all processing concepts.
- Knowledge of drawing and dimensioning standards (ASME Y14.5-1994 and later)
- Experience with detailing and understanding tooling layouts and assemblies.
- Must understand post processing and be able to interpret the outcomes of a FE model.
- Must have excellent communications skills (Verbal & Written)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering and technical expertise for new and existing products and process development and improvements.
- Be a liaison between the engineering, sales, quality and operations departments.
- Utilize customer input and sales information to design or re-design, develop and / or test process, tooling and method designs.
- Conduct simulations of metal flow to improve the tooling and method designs.
