PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Engineering team at Viking Pump Inc., a Unit of IDEX Corporation, is seeking a student co-op to work within our Engineering Department in Cedar Falls, Iowa. This Co-Op student will work within the Biopharma project group. Student will participate in design/new product development projects to support Growth & Innovation in biopharma pumping segment
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Participate on cross-functional & international project teams + Support New Product Development efforts in biopharma segment + Aid in testing and data analysis of new product prototypes + Assist with project research through simulations & documentation + Create and update models and drawings in SolidWorks + Maintain part numbers and Bills of Material in ERP system + Learn additive manufacturing and 3D scanning technology + Aid in Engineering calculations and documentation + Other engineering projects as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar + Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Major
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment + Adaptability/managing change + Self-guided learning + High impact communication + Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
COMPUTER SKILLS:
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook + CAD training w/SolidWorks experience a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENT:
+ Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions. + Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use. + General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
