About the Position
As a Design Engineer at Mission Mobile Medical your objective is to understand the vision of a project, analyze the challenges and opportunities associated with that vision, present what success could look like, and then take action to achieve that success. Success will be achieved through close collaboration with all members of the Engineering and Fabrication teams.
General Tasks
Participate in engineering team alignment meetings where the goals of the day and week are reviewed.
Provide stakeholders with feedback regarding new project feasibility, alternatives, and timing.
Meet with Project Leaders to discuss a project’s status.
Produce CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings that effectively communicate the vision for the vehicle to the manufacturing team.
Work with the manufacturing team to ensure the best possible solution is being produced in the allotted timeframe.
Maintain the documentation associated with your current projects including requirement and conceptual documents, correspondence, specifications/BOMs, CAD models/assemblies/drawings, drawing revisions, and operation directions specific to each project.
Provide Project Management and other client support teams with technical knowledge as needed.
Aid in the development of best practices for the engineering department, contribute ideas for accomplishing team goals and strategies.
Work on long term projects such as part standardization, standard procedures, new part and process R&D, etc.
Research and collaborate with outside vendors to select existing products and create custom ones.
Requirements & Qualifications
4-year degree in an appropriate engineering field OR 2-year degree in an equivalent technical program with additional experience.
At least 8 years of experience working in a custom fabrication and/or manufacturing environment.
Expert using Solidworks (2022+) and modern Microsoft products.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as bearings, linkages, trusses, etc.
Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, AC/DC power, and residential plumbing systems.
Knowledge relating to cabinet building and/or ERP systems would be a plus.
Ability to work independently, a self-starter, as well as collaborate with a diverse team.
Detail oriented ensuring precise measurements and accurate deliverables.
Must be able to complete tasks in a timely fashion that meets scheduled deadlines.

Work Environment
Work will typically be performed in an office and manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on job that requires interaction with the manufacturing team in addition to office-based teams.
