This role is located in the South Bend, IN area and relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
Role Overview
As a Design Engineer, you’ll take ownership of projects to develop robust, efficient, and practical solutions for customer challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to design and launch new products.
- Develop and manage technical drawings, ensuring accurate revisions and updates.
- Handle change management, including creating and maintaining Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Build and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for assigned projects.
- Provide support to manufacturing, ensuring accurate and timely information.
- Communicate product or process changes to the Customer Service team.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in existing products.
- Ensure product samples and first production runs meet quality standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with agricultural machinery or outdoor equipment operation.
- Strong proficiency in 3D modeling software (Creo/Pro E preferred).
- Knowledge of fluid power systems and DC electrical components.
- Passion for outdoor work industries and a willingness to become an expert in the field.
- Demonstrated integrity, positivity, and emotional intelligence.
- Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering (or a related field).
- At least 7+ years of experience in machinery design engineering.
- Minimum of 3+ years of successful project management experience.
- Experience designing and specifying fluid power drive systems and accessory components.
- Expertise in fluid power control systems involving mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
Requirements
- Ability to work on-site.
Work Environment & Travel
- Minimal travel required (less than 5%).
