Design Engineer

Location: South Bend, IN, surrounding area

Overview:

We’re seeking a talented Design Engineer to develop innovative machinery and equipment. This role combines hands-on testing and prototype development with CAD design to create solutions that meet customer needs. If you’re driven by taking ideas from concept to production and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of products from initial concept to production.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and engineering change notices.
• Support manufacturing with technical insights and provide updates to customer service teams.
• Ensure quality control for prototypes and early production models.
• Drive continuous improvements for existing products and processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong background in operating and designing mechanical systems or machinery equipment.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (Creo/Pro E preferred).
• Experience with fluid power and DC electrical systems.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or related Engineering field.
• 7+ years in equipment or machinery design, with 3+ years of project management experience.
