Position Title: Designer
Location: Itasca, IL 60143
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $70k-$100k (based on experience)
The Designer will develop innovative product designs and improve existing products or processes to enhance efficiency and quality. This role ensures that all products meet client requirements and are manufactured cost-effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate project specifications, including materials and build instructions, to the Estimator.
- Collaborate with Sales and Project Managers to review projects from prototype to production, ensuring accuracy and addressing missing details.
- Prioritize project schedules based on deadlines and manage workflow accordingly.
- Create detailed AutoCAD drawings, including overall views and individual part schematics with precise dimensions and descriptions.
- Obtain drawing approvals from the Sales team for prototype development.
- Work closely with Purchasing to confirm material availability and meet project-specific requirements.
- Generate CNC programs and input material requirements into JobBOSS (ERP system).
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely material procurement.
- Collaborate with the Prototype Department to align on expectations and incorporate input from the Sales team and Prototype Specialists.
- Review CNC programs with the Machining Department, providing sheet layouts and additional guidance.
- Inform the Production Department of project details, including timelines and specific instructions.
- Address project inquiries from shop employees and provide technical guidance.
- Propose process improvements and cost-saving measures for various projects.
- Optimize project outcomes by staying updated on material options, pricing structures, and market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Hands-on experience with CNC programming and machining tooling is a plus
- Experience in the POP/product display industry is highly preferred.
