Design Engineer, Fire Suppression Systems - Talent Legends

Are you a Design Engineer with a passion for saving lives and protecting property? If so, our client has an urgent need for a dedicated engineer who can design fire suppression and protection systems. Our ideal Design Engineer will use AutoCAD and additional software applications to accomplish this mission, while adhering to national, local, and manufacturer standards. We are conduction a nationwide search to find the right employee.

What You’ll Do:

• Instruct contractors in the proper installation and operation of systems.
• Survey and review job sites to ensure proper system design and installation.
• Read, review, and ensure correct application of the detailed project specifications provided by clients.
• Create user manuals and update illustrations, blueprints, and diagrams for customized projects.
• Support office staff with engineering-related duties, including process improvement and adherence to required standards.
• Inspect systems, system startups, commissioning, and maintenance when needed.
• Attend manufacturer training classes and other continued education training.

What You’ll Bring:

• Previous experience as a Design Engineer in the Fire Suppression Industry: 1+ years for an early-career engineer; 5+ years for a more senior engineer.
• Experience designing special hazard fire suppression & fire alarm systems; water-based system design experience is not applicable for this position.
• Skills with AutoCAD 2D and 3D drafting software.
• MS Office expertise; excellent organizational skills; engaging written and verbal communication strengths.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Strong desire to learn industry standards and to attain NICET certification, if not already attained.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in mechanical or industrial engineering; however, degree is not required if you have the right experience.
