We expect our Associate Design Drafter to promote to a Design Drafter, then could grow into a Senior Design Drafter! We make the world"s water cleaner every day, that instills a lot of pride in what we do here at EDI/Nexom!
Our Associate Design Drafter (DD) works with the Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Applications Engineering to design EDI wastewater aeration systems and components that meet or exceed the performance requirements set forth by the customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide professional layouts while maintaining set spacing standards to
ensure desired quantity of equipment will fit in provided area. Designs
must incorporate EDI Engineering application guidelines into EDI standard
drawing formats.
2. Utilize and interpret various customer-provided drawings for manipulation and representation in EDI drawings.
3. Be able to work in and properly maintain the Vault Database.
a. Save files in appropriate place.
b. Ensure files are under the correct Category, State, and Revision.
c. Assist in helping others search for needed drawings through the
Vault database.
4. Attend all Project and Production Kickoff meetings to ensure
understanding of what is required for that specific project.
a. Understand when Project Submittal, External Fabrication, and
Internal Fabrication drawings are due.
b. Emphasize the need for any required information to the Project
Manager, Project Engineer, or Application Engineer to complete the
project.
5. Perform system calculations to ensure the system meets customer
specifications.
6. Work with Product Engineering to create informative details to clarify to
construction/installation crews how to fabricate, install and maintain EDI
equipment.
7. Communicate with Production, contractors, fabricators, and vendors to clarify dimensions, view orientation, and other issues related to project drafting products.
8. Provide dimensioned fabrication details for the production staff to use
during the construction of components that will be used in projects,
including a list of materials with part numbers and quantities required.
9. Provide drawings for requested OTE testing configurations.
10. Produce as built drawings for projects after they are installed in the field.
11. Create and maintain Sales/proposal/bid package drafting products for pre-project award communication.
12. Maintain the professional image that EDI portrays to potential and existing
customers, contractors, fabricators, and vendors.
13. Freely share knowledge of standards and products with co-workers.
14. Seek information/answers to issues in order to provide clarity and
accuracy.
15. Follow all company policies, assuring for safety.
16. Perform other duties as specified.
Requires two-year technical degree or equivalent experience. Prefer some experience in the drafting profession with AutoCAD. We can train our new hire remotely, but some on-site work here at Headquarters is required.
