Design Coordinator
As a Project (Design Focused) Coordinator your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- The project administrator will report to the project manager(s) and assist with preparing action plans, analyzing risk and managing resources. You will work closely with the design and construction teams, so strong communication skills are a must. Your mission is to help the project meet quality standards and deliver on time and within budget.
- Interface with and coordinate both and general contractor / supplier design team, construction team and project managers.
- Interface and coordinate with client project design, construction, scheduling, and estimating resources.
- Coordinate the effort of engineers who define design criteria, lead scope definition and justification, and develop design concept.
- Track the completion of design milestones and city (AHJ) permitting progress.
- Work with estimating team to ensure costs are captured and project budgets reports are issued.
- We are seeking a motivated self-starter for a project administrator position. You will be responsible, among other things, for coordinating project activities, maintaining and updating the project controls documents, managing assignments, monitoring progress and communicating to the project team.
- Will need to be proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams) and knowledge of Smartsheet’s is preferred but not required as specific training will be delivered.
- Champion effective meeting tools and processes (minute of meeting, note taking, event / calendar organization).
- Ensure implementation of change control process throughout project scoping, project design and permitting phase.
- Work with team members to track progress for the following: submittals, RFIs, Change Orders, Post IFC design, Master Design Specs, Changes to base-build IMDS/ IMCS, permitting process, SDC, Facility Capability Gap Analysis Matrix, Design Closeout process including redline monthly and final approval processes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess an associate or bachelor's degree in a design / construction / engineering related field with 4+ years of experience or 8+ years equivalent experience in project controls.
- Ability to be onsite in the office environment (Santa Clara, CA) 4-5 days per week.
