Nicholas Vincent, Inc. is a boutique high-end residential interior design studio in San Francisco. We are seeking a highly motivated Design Assistant Intern to join our rapidly growing firm. In-studio applicants only.
About the Role
Our ideal candidate is currently pursuing a degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field. This role is an opportunity to gain practical experience by assisting in various phases of the design process. Applicants must reside near our San Francisco office and be able to reliably commute to the office Monday-Friday.
The studio works a 9/80 schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain studio organization of materials library and design documents as directed.
- Assist designers with presentations, mood boards, and material palettes.
- Responsible for basic drafting and modeling.
- Finishes and furniture product research and sourcing.
- Correspondence and coordination with vendors and showroom.
- Varied administrative tasks such as answering calls, collecting mail, shipping and receiving packages and returns, printing
- Invoices and purchase orders’ and filing. Assist the design team in various phases of design projects, from concept development to installation.
- Support sourcing of furniture, fabrics, fixtures, and finishes in line with project needs and budget.
- Create furniture, fabric, and material studies for design team review.
- Prepare presentation materials, including mood boards, sketches, and client-ready visuals.
- Assist in maintaining and updating finish schedules, specifications, and project documentation
Qualifications:
- Graduate or in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in interior design or related field.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Microsoft Office, SketchUp.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills.
- Outstanding analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resourceful, self-motivated, enthusiastic team player.
