Dermatology -- Fellowship - DNP Preferred - Family Nurse Practitioner - University of Rochester

Responsibilities The University of Rochester is seeking a motivated Family Nurse Practitioner interested in specializing in Dermatology to acquire the needed skills through Dermatology’s Advanced Practice Practitioner training program. This wonderful opportunity will position the advanced practice provider (APP) to participate in a rich array of education opportunities and one on one teaching provided by our nationally recognized faculty. The successful candidate will work with our faculty mentors¿ throughout this two-year program to assist the candidate in the acquisition of Dermatology clinical knowledge and patient care skills. Rotations in subspecialty clinics in Dermatology are provided to deepen the trainee’s understanding of Dermatologic diseases and their treatment. As part of dermatology training NP program, trainees will have the opportunity to learn about clinical translational research. In the Dermatology Clinical Trials Unit, the trainees will learn fundamentals of the clinical research process and serve as sub-investigators to sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials Candidates must demonstrate a high level of clinical competence in the coordination of care across the inpatient and outpatient setting, strong communication skills, and a focus upon patient centered care and patient/family satisfaction. Prior experience in the inpatient/outpatient management of Dermatology is useful but not required. Experience in the analysis of outcomes and quality data and patient satisfaction data is a plus. Must be NYS NP licensed. Qualifications: Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Prefer candidates with a Doctor of Nursing degree, or current, active enrollment.
