DRMP is seeking a motivated Deputy Project Manager to help the growing Transportation Market Sector based in our Boca Raton, Orlando, Jacksonville and/or Tampa office.
We are looking for a dynamic candidate who is knowledgeable in transportation design (roadway, drainage, traffic or structures) and willing to learn the ropes of project management including assisting the project manager with team coordination, attending client meetings, scheduling, invoicing, and implementing project management best practices. They should also be willing to market, control and develop projects for the Florida Department of Transportation, counties, cities, and other transportation agencies.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Overall project management assistance for complex roadway capacity projects on limited access facilities in Florida.
- Conducts engineering investigations and plans work by completing well defined tasks including collection and analysis of data; performs routine calculations and participates in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
- Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project.
- Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.
- Prepares and updates schedules to advance the project.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Collaborates with clients, sub-consultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements.
- Directs and mentors support staff.
What you'll need
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Professional Registration with 7 - 15+ years in field related work experience.
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
- Proficiency in MicroStation.
- Experience designing capacity projects for FDOT and/or tolling authorities such as Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, THEA, CFX, etc.
- Management duties include budgeting, scheduling, job tracking, client interaction, and staff management.
- Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to forge strong relationships with clients, professionals and your team members.
- Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
