Deputy Director of Marketing - MainStreet Family Urgent Care
Birmingham, AL
About the Job
About Us:
MainStreet is on a growth rocket ship. We add a new clinic every three weeks! We are looking to add someone to our Family that will be our Marketing Director’s right hand person and lead our field and grassroots marketing team.
What do we do: Every day we strive to be guardians of rural healthcare access. Our clinics are in rural ‘Walmart’ towns and are often the only access to healthcare, especially after hours or weekends. In some cases, we are the only healthcare access left.
At MainStreet - You can make an impact. Your work will change lives. Every day, you can be part of providing care to people who will otherwise go without. Without you, without us, they do not get care.
This job is special. We can help people in ways that others cannot. Patients are scared, hurting, and often alone. They are struggling to make ends meet. There is immense personal and professional pride and satisfaction in knowing that what you do here is making a significant and real impact in people’s lives. Everyday.
What we do matters. A lot. Our clinics is all that will be left of healthcare access in many of our communities. In some places it already is.
We are a Family. There are not a lot of us, we must work together and wear all the hats. We depend on each other. We work very hard for each other and our communities. Everyone in the Family is deeply committed and it takes everything our Family has to keep healthcare alive in rural areas.
We have over 60 clinics in four states. Soon to be over 80 clinics in seven states. Check us out: https://www.mainstreetfamilycare.com/
We also have a pediatric brand located in bigger cities. This brand and the associated clinics play a key role in the operational design needed to support rural operations. https://www.kidsstreeturgentcare.com/
About the Role:
Marketing in rural communities is built on grassroots. We do events at schools, we support and sponsor community events. Our mascot, Dr. Wags, attends Friday night football games. When we open a new clinic, we go for an epic grand opening party. Engaging the community at the event and grassroots level is the best approach.
Our pediatric clinic marketing is built on a similar approach. We partner with the elementary, middle, and high schools around the clinics in every way we can. We are a part of all school events and are core school sponsors.
We have our clinics grouped into four regions, and each region has a Field and Grassroots Marketing Coordinator. As Deputy Director of Marketing your role will be to manage the three Field and Grassroots Marketing Coordinators and own one of the four regions (you will have the smallest). You will be responsible for driving our grassroots and field marketing activities, for continually improving our new clinic marketing process, and for leading and managing the three Field and Grassroots Marketing Coordinators.
There is significant travel in this role, including frequent overnight travel. You are on the road almost every day, working in clinics communities, participating and hosting events, putting your eyes on events. You are immersed in Marketing everyday.
You will report to the Director of Marketing and be their right hand person. So that means helping with anything and everything marketing.
This is a Birmingham, AL based role and anytime you are not traveling for clinics, you would be in the office working with the Marketing team. So, you need to live within commutable distance of downtown Birmingham.
Often events are on the weekends, and the grassroots team also responds to social media and google reviews all seven days of the week (clinics are open seven days a week). This means many a weekend is spent doing what we hope you love: Events, grassroots, marketing, fun.
About You:
You love marketing, you love events, and you love grassroots field marketing. You have significant experience with grassroots events and field marketing. You have managed a small team before. You love motivating the team while also pushing continuous improvements. Your organizational skills and obsession with details knows no bounds. You believe in a checklist for everything! You are outgoing, high energy, move fast, friendly, and approachable.
More about you:
-
You love events! We did mention that, right?
-
You love planning! You have a plan for how you will make your plans.
-
You are a details person. When planning for an event you have drawn a detailed layout. You have organized all event equipment and items into tubs and the tubs have packing lists. The packing lists have all the details, down to the exact placement on the tables, with pictures showing how it should be. You like that this bullet on details is the most detailed bullet.
-
You are going to know and become best friends with everyone at the schools and chamber at each of your clinics.
-
We prefer you have a graduate degree of some sort.
-
Ability to travel up to 80% of the time (combination of day travel and overnight travel); must have a reliable vehicle
