Brett LLC. is seeking to fill the Deployable Electrical Engineer position for our customer in Aberdeen, MD. BRETT LLC is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) owned by Lloyd George Brett who serves as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Brett served in the Navy for five years, and then left to pursue a lucrative career in defense contracting specializing in Information Technology and Electronic Warfare. While working for a contractor, Mr. Brett learned that the government is looking to expand its capability in the areas he specializes. With 12 years of experience, he formed BRETT LLC to take advantage of his expertise, and the unique opportunities available to him as a service disabled veteran. The designation as a SDVOSB gives his business access to set aside contracts that may not be available to other competitors.
BRETT LLC provides high-technology consulting to the Federal Government, specializing in technical services in the areas of systems engineering, testing, sensor/system evaluations, modeling/simulation and proto-typing. Customers rely on our independent evaluation and analysis to assist in the requirements determination, technology development and testing phases of complex electronic warfare programs.
- Position: Deployable Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Be available and willing to deploy to OCONUS locations to include Kuwait, and Iraq for up to 6 months at a time rotating with other deployers.
- Support technical intelligence (TECHINT), media exploitation (MEDEX), cell phone exploitation (CELLEX), electronic exploitation (ELEX), and other unique exploitation missions.
- Conduct electronic analyses of target devices, including functional analyses of the target devices, understand and describe how the target functions from an electronic perspective - basic signaling characteristics; voltage levels; electrical connections; electrical modifications to commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware; logic states; operating frequencies; component configuration identification; operating profiles/modes; operation in noisy electromagnetic environments; and susceptibility.
- Serve as subject matter expert in RF characterization.
- Publish reports and briefings in order to present characterization information, electronics vulnerabilities, and exploitation recommendations.
- Work with a team to respond to RFI's and determine best consolidated solutions to problems.
- Design and implement characterization standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implement SOPs in daily functions.
Required Skills:
- An understanding of RF communications, with a particular emphasis on complete characterization of electronic circuits.
- Extensive experience in electronics engineering.
- Experience using benchtop RF equipment including Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and other equipment.
- Able to perform standard RF measurements (e.g. occupied bandwidth, average power, and pulse width) using the previous listed test equipment.
- Experience in synthesizing and generating various types of RF waveforms using and arbitrary waveform generator.
- Be able to handle and prioritize many tasks in a fast-paced environment. . Good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Experience deploying to forward OCONUS locations desired.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering and 3 years of experience; or associates degree and 8 years of experience in related fields required.
- Advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 7 years of experience in related fields desired.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in reverse engineering electronic components and circuit boards.
- Experience supporting exploitation and modelling and simulation tool development.
- Working knowledge of software defined radios (SDR), such as the Ettus B210 and x310. Able to interface with such units to transmit or receiver RF signals.
- Basic MATLAB (and other basic programming/scripting) skills should be able to apply digital signal processing techniques to communication signals. Techniques include digital filtering, sample rate conversion, frequency/phase estimation, demodulation, carrier recovery, timing recovery, channel equalization, pulse shaping, and forward error correction.
- Experience working with embedded systems such as Arduino and writing programs leveraging the SPI bus to configure and analyse various chipsets.
