Squirrel Hill Health Center, a dynamic and growing Federally Qualified Health Center, is hiring a full-time Dental Front Office Coordinator.

The Dental Front Office Coordinator (FOC) will provide the interface between dental patients and others entering and leaving SHHC, in person or by phone.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Greets patients at the front and checks-in patients for appointments by verifying current contact information and insurance status.
Greets patients at side desk for check out process; gathers information to schedule follow up/future appointments.
Retrieves Patient Portal messages and ensures prompt follow-up.
Acts as liaison between patients, care navigators and clinicians, taking and conveying accurate messages and ensuring a smooth flow of necessary information.
Manages dental schedules to achieve optimum utilization, reduce wait time and decrease no shows.
Schedule and confirm appointments. Track and schedule recall appointments. Follow-up on missed appointments.
Helps complete the registration for scheduling purposes, including eligibility, insurance verification and updating of patient and demographic information.
If fluent in a second language, also provides interpretation services to SHHC patients and staff both on the phone and in person as needed to provide culturally competent care to SHHC patients, at the direction of the Medical Office Supervisor.
Collect and stamp outgoing dental mail.
Ensure that all front areas, front office and waiting area, are neat at all times; personal work areas must be kept professional and well organized at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of a second language preferred.
Dental front office experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology preferred.
Basic medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding knowledge preferred.
Available and willing to work in any SHHC location as needed.
Available to work a rotating shift including evenings (Tuesday and Thursday) and weekends (either Saturday or Sunday) as needed. May assist other front office staff form time to time, as needed.
