Dental Assistant Mobile/Portable - Suncoast Community Health Centers Inc.

POSITION TITLE:  DENTAL ASSISTANT MOBILE/PORTABLE

FLSA:   NON-EXEMPT

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Diploma in approved dental assisting program with expanded duty functions.
• Minimum of 3-year experience
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented with leadership potential
• Team player
• Able to work in harmony with other dental staff.
• Valid driver's license, ability to drive day and night and ability to get to and from work without a set schedule are required
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• BLS required
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Report daily at the appropriate site and time.
• Homesite is where the Coach/Portable is based for the day; travel is not paid
• Provide dental assisting in mobile and portable settings following set procedures and protocol.
• Cleaning and sterilization of dental instruments.
• Greet and comfort patients, prepare patients for treatment, provide all oral health instructions and ensure a positive dental experience for all patients.
• Weekly monitoring of coach systems and logs i.e. eyewash station, spore testing checklist, etc.
• Performing supplies inventory and ordering all supplies for the Dental Coach/portable program
• Document patient treatment at chairside.
• Participate in community based oral hygiene classes
• Attend on/off-site training
• Billing/Front office duties
• Maintain strict adherence to all OSHA infection control guidelines.
• The ability to go/come from work without a set schedule is required.
• Other duties as assigned.
