MUST:
Experienced Dental Assistant licensed in the state of Maryland
1 year of experience as a dental assistant
Experienced in the use of dental instruments and equipment
Experience providing chair side support in a specialty practice
Experience using proper handling techniques for instruments
Applying topical anesthesia
Comfortable with providing teaching assistance to students
Ordering and maintaining clinical supplies
4 handed dentistry techniques
CPR certified
Radiology license
High school diploma

DUTIES:
The Duties of the Dental Assistant include but are not limited to the following:
Perform intra-oral rinsing and aspiration procedures
Work with students and assist as needed
Retracts oral tissues including lips, cheeks, tongue, and flaps.
Place and remove materials for isolation of the dentition
Check for loose bands
Provide oral hygiene instructions to patients
Perform intra-oral photography
Expose and process dental radiographs
Take impressions for mouth guards or diagnostic casts
Orders and maintain inventory of clinical supplies and equipment
Clean up after procedures and maintain clinic equipment
Enter patient data into EMR
Schedule appointments
Use proper handling techniques for sharps.
Apply topical anesthesia.
Curing using a halogen light
