About the Job
Pay Range: $13.00 - $16 / hour
Description - Is involved in the preparation of food and has little or no control over the menu nor of any other worker in the kitchen.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare food in accordance to the menu instructions.
- Make servers aware of any necessary up-charges for changes made.
- Ensure that there is an adequate amount of food prepped for the estimated sales for each shift.
- Prepare dips and salads, pre-portion entrees, cook up bacon, make croutons, cook chicken breasts in accordance with company guidelines.
- Ensure that food is handled correctly to prevent cross contamination and food born illnesses.
- Know the importance of food allergies and watch tickets for special cooking instructions.
- Make sure all prepped items have a date seal and use items in correct order.
- Help put up and store food deliveries rotating stock to ensure freshness of products.
- Make manager aware of any items that are left off, arrived damaged or were received in error.
- Nobody under 18-yrs of age is permitted to operate a slicer or a deep fryer.
- Be familiar with the proper usage and cleaning of slicers and other kitchen appliances.
Skills and Specifications
- Knowledge of knife skills.
- Knowledge of proper technique in food preparation.
- Should be able to multi-task
- Should be able to handle high pressure situations
Education and Qualifications
- No higher education is required. Must be able to read and understand English.
- Know and abide by the Food Handling requirements for your locale.
- Serve Safe classes are available several times a year. Company will cover the cost of any classes offered as part of the management training program.
