THERAPIST- Administers treatment, applying knowledge of applicable therapy discipline.
- Plans and prepares written treatment plans based on evaluation of individual's data.
- Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit.
- Instructs, motivates and assists individuals in performance of various activities and use of support devices.
- Instructs individuals, their families and other treatment staff in treatment procedures.
- Prepares records and reports on individual's progress.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Therapist III
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher.
- At least two years experience providing professional therapy services.
- Depending on job assignment possession of one of the following certification, license or registration:
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification or eligible for certification.
- Registered Dance Therapist by the American Dance Therapy Association or eligible for registration.
- Registered Drama Therapist by the National Association for Drama Therapy or eligible for registration.
This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment, in accordance with Title 29, Chapter 59 and Title 19, Chapter 13 and 16. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.
