What would you do as a Degreed Nutritionist for WIC
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our community? Join The Resource Connection of Amador and Calaveras as a full-time Degreed Nutritionist for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program! You will be at the forefront of promoting optimal nutrition for pregnant women and young children in Amador and Calaveras counties. This exciting role is perfect for health-minded individuals passionate about empowering others through nutrition and breastfeeding education.
You'll conduct nutrition assessments, counseling, and education for WIC participants while providing essential support to WIC Nutrition Assistants. Collaborating with a dedicated team, you'll utilize the Participant Centered Education (PCE) approach, assist the Breastfeeding Coordinator, and contribute to special projects and outreach activities. A bachelor's degree in nutrition or a closely related field is required, complemented by the minimum competencies specified by the California State Department of Health Supplemental Nutrition Program for WIC. Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing them to effectively engage with diverse populations and promote nutritional education. While one year of experience in a community health care services setting is preferred, a genuine passion for improving community health outcomes is critical.
