We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Defense Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and has a passion for legal research, case management, and client relations. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to our defense litigation team, handling complex tasks, and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our firm.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support defense litigation cases.
2. Manage multiple cases from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met.
3. Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery requests and responses, affidavits, and legal memos.
4. Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
5. Coordinate and manage document production and discovery process.
6. Maintain and update case management system and client files.
7. Establish and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a point of contact for clients and ensuring their needs are met.
8. Liaise with opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders.
9. Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that affect the firm’s defense litigation practice.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in litigation.
2. Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field is preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of legal research tools and techniques.
4. Proficient in case management systems and other legal software.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive client relations.
6. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
7. Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Paralegal certification is a plus.
