CAAS is composed of eight academic departments and, under its “applied science” mission, offers degrees and certificates that reach beyond the typical scope of agricultural colleges: Animal, Dairy & Veterinary Sciences; Applied Economics; Applied Sciences, Technology & Education; Aviation Technology; Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning; Nutrition, Dietetics & Food Sciences; Plants, Soils & Climate; Technology, Design & Technical Education. The College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences has nearly 200 faculty who provide outstanding educational opportunities in more than 100 degree and certificate programs and offer students innovative experiential learning and community engagement. The Dean will possess proven and excellent leadership ability, articulate a broad and comprehensive vision of the college based on its strengths and values, and embrace the land-grant mission of the university that places high importance on educational access, community partnerships, and outreach.
