Sr. Pipe/Plumbing Fabrication Estimator

We are currently seeking a targeted ESTIMATOR for a regional construction firm with state-of-the art design/fabrication facilities serving the commercial and industrial markets.

This Estimator will join our team and work to prepare cost estimating services for the preparation of bids and projects to support Industrial pipe and plumbing fabrication projects, by putting together bids/estimates for our clients based on a number of factors, unique to each client's needs.

This is a key role, where you will work directly with our customers and our internal design, engineering and fabrications teams, as a Plumbing/Piping Estimator, where you will be responsible for accurately costing all piping and plumbing projects associated with various construction or manufacturing projects.

As mentioned, we need a strong technical professional, AND a strong communicator as you will be working closely with architects, engineers, and construction managers to identify the type, quantity, and quality of steel required for each project, thus an ability, AND a comfort communicating everything from simple to very complex concepts to all audiences, is needed.

Work Will Include

• Utilize knowledge of Plumbing and Piping systems and processes to accurately estimate costs for construction projects
• Utilize Estimating software to prepare cost estimates for related components
• Perform material take-offs and price analysis to determine cost components
• Conduct risk analysis to identify potential cost variations and provide recommendations for mitigating risks
• Prepare and submit bids for mechanical and process-related aspects of construction projects
• Negotiate vendor agreements to ensure the best possible pricing for materials and services
• Analyze data and provide cost reports to management and project teams
• Provide technical support for stick welding, welding, steel fabrication, and industrial fabrication processes
• Interface with customers to understand project requirements and provide cost estimates
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate cost estimates are incorporated into project plans
  
  

WHAT DO WE NEED? Qualified candidates, will bring with them:

• Ideally an Engineering Degree is preferred, Bachelors is preferred, Those with Associate Degrees will be considered with applicable industry experience.
• Ideally qualified ( but by no means an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE LIST), will bring to this role:
• They will hold a current, valid plumbing license.
• They will bring anywhere from the 5-10, OR MORE years of Construction industry/project-based experience
• They will bring at least 5 years of commercial, and industrial estimation experience, targeted ideally with Piping, and/or plumbing projects.
• Targeted Experience, ideally with at least 3 or more years of experience in Plumbing, Piping, Industrial Fluid movement systems estimating, as described with experience and ability to perform material take-offs and price analysis, managing risk analysis, and creating/submitting client bids and working with the negotiation process alongside your team.
• Experience with estimating software, preferably Timberline, will make for a good experience profile.
• Excellent communication skills, customer interface skills, including a desire to do this regularly and a comfort with this part of the role. You have to face MORE than a monitor/terminal in this role!
• Targeted, and direct experience with PLUMBING and/or Piping Layout and fabrication and industrial facilities construction, ideally including knowledge of Welding fabrication ( stick welding, etc.)

• Site/Changing Environmental Conditions
• Project Budget parameters/flexibility

We are offering a competitive Salary, anywhere in the range of $80000 to $130000, which is a WIDE range, but we are open to candidates with a few years of experience, and/or those with MANY years' of experience of applicable, targeted experience, as listed.
