Industrial Automation Solutions Company has a full-time DCS Systems Engineer position available out of their Dallas, TX Office. This is a core role within their Systems Lifecycle Services Team. As part of this team, you will act as a subject matter expert related to the DCS System hardware, electrical, communications, PCs/Networking, configuration and controls aspects of the DCS System.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Test/meter Power and Grounding.
- Perform Site Initialization and Inspection on Hardware
- PC/Server and Networking Equipment setup and configuration
- DeltaV PC/Server and Networking Equipment setup and configuration
- Install, configure and maintain assets relating to the DCS System
- Install and support DCS software.
- Perform and maintain elements of DCS management and administration SOP, including, but not limited to, OS patching, Anti-Virus updating, contingency response and system security.
- Perform system backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Onsite control system modifications and tuning.
- Assist in FAT/SAT.
- Commissioning and loop-check activities.
- Small configuration projects with graphics.
- Ability to use your background to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems and instrumentation.
- Identify system performance improvements for improved operational results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Relevant Technical Degree
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience performing similar project work with DCS/instrumentation.
- Proficiency in A/C and D/C power and grounding.
- Proficiency in the use of electrical test equipment.
- Experienced with DCS and/or PLC control systems.
- Proficiency with Windows-based computers and associated operating systems.
- Competency in motor controls and instrumentation.
- Experience with design and reading/interpretation of engineering documents such as P&IDs, Electrical One Lines, Plot Plans.
- Ability to function in a fast pace/high energy environment during testing, start-ups, troubleshooting and deployment.
- Highly motivated and self-starter who can be effective working independently or in a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communications.
- Able and willing to travel to/from customer sites.
