Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in designing, installation, and managing database products.
5 years of experience in developing application business logic using T-SQL, PL/SQL, shell scripts, and Python.
5 years of experience with database administration in Oracle and SQL Server RDBMS.

Preferred qualifications:

5 years of experience using database troubleshooting techniques.
Experience in Linux system administration.
Experience configuring storages (e.g., Nimble/NetApp) for databases.
Experience with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in the semiconductor industry.
Experience using Power BI Data Analysis Expression (DAX).
Ability to analyze and resolve difficult technical issues quickly.

As a Database Engineer at Google, you design, implement and maintain our relational database systems for performance and reliability. You're responsible for tuning and configuring our databases as well as building tools and scripts to monitor, troubleshoot and automate our systems. You propose test plans and interface with external groups, developers and application owners to arrive at optimal solutions. Other areas of responsibility include designing and enhancing disaster recovery and backup systems. As you are writing automation for hundreds of machines, pages are serving up in real time, which means that the user has a seamless browsing experience.With your technical expertise, you design, implement and improve processes, procedures and automation for all database-centric areas. You also test the systems in place and interface with external groups.

As a Database Engineer, you will administer Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server), manage database storage, and be responsible for backup and recovery, database tuning, and Oracle Linux system administration. You will also architect databases (e.g., tables, views, etc.) based on application needs, develop business logic using SQL statements, interact with key stakeholders to build database solutions, and design and develop reports and dashboards using Power BI.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Work on multiple overlapping projects at the same time with minimal supervision.
Partner with cross-functional teams, leadership, engineers, program managers, and data scientists to understand business and application needs.
Follow the software development standards and implement best practices in documenting user requirements, design, coding, and testing of software solutions.
