About the Job
Job Summary/Essential Functions
- Provide database development support (to include maintenance) utilizing database applications (Microsoft Access) or collaborative and document platforms such as SharePoint to be installed on the CEHNC intranet. The Project Manager, Contracting Officer, and Contract Specialist shall be able to update their assigned acquisition schedule(s).
- Maintain a database that supervisors will be able to query on selected data fields, run filters, etc., useful for resource leveling, avoiding bottlenecks, and other staffing management related to pre-award activities as the sole property of US Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville. -
- Managing database access and permissions
- Ensuring that databases meet users’ requirements.
- Liaising with programmers, applications/operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff.
- Writing operating manuals and providing training and support for the database use.
- Devising and implementing processes for resolving faults and data loss.
- Archiving data.
- Build, deploy, and troubleshoot informational dashboards and reports in the service order tracking system.
- Establish and continue the development of in-house information systems to manage the daily flow of service order data.
- Work closely with peers on implementation, testing, and configuring of new databases and front-end software in the governments established information systems.
- Maintain existing SQL server databases and execute queries, updates, backups/restores as needed or required utilizing SQL Management Studio and other tools.
- Maintain and periodically refresh test and pilot databases in the service order tracking system.
- Work with the company's existing Power BI dashboards to meet current service order metric demands, support the development and implementation of new solutions.
- Ensure that service order tracker displays are showing concise, accurate, updated and relevant data to meet the project planning needs of the program.
- Work with peers and other relevant stakeholders and consultants on the new implementation of and migration to the SharePoint system, and future such implementations and migrations.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and consultants to develop effective service order tracking system processes, dashboards and reports.
Education/Experience
- BA/BS degree in related field
- 7+ years of related experience
- Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience may be substituted for education, and an advanced degree may be substituted for two years of experience
Qualifications/Skills
- Expert in Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables skills is a must)
- Expert in Database Development
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret SQL, C#, and other computer code.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the business through both verbal and written communication and work with key stakeholders and consultants on analyzing business needs to formulate solutions
Security Clearance
- Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance
- Obtain an authorized CAC
