Responsibilities
Install and configure Linux servers
Configure and maintain relational a Cassandra databases in a high availability, high scalable environment
Assist in the design and documentation of the database architecture
Build database utilities and automated reporting
Create shell scripts for task automation
Create, test and execute data management languages
Install and test new versions of the Cassandra systems.
Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements
Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency
Monitor systems and platforms for availability
Configure backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover solutions
Restore and recover corrupted databases
Install and test upgrades and patches
Implement security and encryption
Work both independently and in an Agile team environment
Troubleshoot and problem solve both technical and non-technical issue

Skills
Minimum 5 years recent experience serving as a full-time Database Administrator in a high volume Linux based environment
Demonstrated experience serving as a full time database administrator configuring and maintaining Cassandra databases in a high availability, highly scalable environment
Demonstrated experience with data modeling and schema design
Demonstrated experience performing database health monitoring and troubleshooting
Demonstrated experience working on an agile development team
Demonstrated experience serving as a full time database administrator configuring and maintaining Cassandra databases in a high availability, highly scalable environment
Demonstrated experience with data modeling and schema design
