Data Steward
The Data Steward is responsible for accurate data entry, researching data requests, resolving escalated issues, and interfacing with internal clients and governance in the master data maintenance system. This role ensures the quality, consistency, and compliance of master data while supporting the organization’s operational and decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:The Company is one of North America’s leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management, and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers, and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.
Responsibilities
- Input, update, and maintain data in databases and management systems, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and accessibility. Enter, audit, and maintain material, customer, and related data in the SAP MDG system.
- Manage helpdesk requests from internal and external stakeholders, utilizing data governance tools, standards, and processes to maintain high master data quality.
- Identify and rectify outdated, incorrect, or duplicate data entries while implementing processes to maintain data quality over time.
- Monitor and validate data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, resolving discrepancies or errors as needed.
- Assist in database maintenance and optimization, including backups, performance tuning, and adherence to security protocols.
- Generate data quality reports and analyze trends to support organizational decision-making. Conduct quality monitoring to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand data needs and address inquiries. Provide technical support to functional areas for master data objects and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulations, including SLA, KPI metrics, and MDG policies.
Travel
Travel is not an essential duty of this job but may be required up to 10%.

Direct Reports: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports
Indirect Reports: Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
Minimum Qualifications
Education Level:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in the grocery industry preferred.
Environmental & Physical Requirements
Office / Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
