Required Skills:

Data Scientist, Product Responsibilities:

1. Collect, organize, interpret, and summarize statistical data in order to contribute to the design and development of Meta products.

2. Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with both our consumer and business products.

3. Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.

4. Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches.

5. May be assigned projects in various areas including, but not limited to, product operations, exploratory analysis, product influence, and data infrastructure.

6. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

7. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

8. Extract insights from large-scale data to help business with decision making.

9. Be able to communicate analytical results to engineering and product stakeholders and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, Oceanography, or a related field and 6 months of work experience in the job offered or in a data analytics or computer-related occupation. Requires 6 months of experience in the following:

11. Performing quantitative analysis including data mining on highly complex data sets

12. Data querying language: SQL

13. Scripting language: Python

14. Statistical or mathematical software including one of the following: R, SAS, or Matlab

15. Applied statistics or experimentation, such as A/B testing, in an industry setting

16. Machine learning techniques

17. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes

18. Relational databases

19. Large-scale data processing infrastructures using distributed systems

20. Quantitative analysis techniques, including one of the following: clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics

Public Compensation:

$183,503/year to $196,900/year + bonus + equity + benefits
