Summary:
Member of OPH's Product Analytics team; hands-on hybrid role, responsible for developing analytics applications that leverage existing OPH analytics platforms and incorporate new product data. This role will contribute to the research, development, and maintenance work for Product Analytics, collaborating with multiple stakeholders in the support of Otsuka products.
Description:
The Product Analytics Engineer is a cross-disciplinary role on the OPH's Analytics team where the candidate will use their technical skills to contribute to new analytics product development. There will be both development and maintenance tasks associated with the role, as we build new features and support existing products.
The research aspects of the role include the study and application of state-of-the-art analytic methods. The candidate will work with the OPH product platform development team to contribute to analytics efforts by working with stakeholders to understand analytic requirements and researching effective solutions for those requirements.
The development aspects of the role involve the translation of the research into new analytics functionality for OPH's product platforms. The willingness to explore and deeply understand the data OPH works with is a must. The candidate will require the ability to propose new methods for solving analytics problems and provide experience-based solutions. The candidate will require the ability to convey complex ideas, learn on the fly, and to put newly acquired knowledge into practice. The candidate will work closely with the following groups: OPH Advanced Analytics, OPH Software Engineering, and other Otsuka clinical and commercial teams.
Ideal candidates will require proficiencies in the following areas: contribution to production code repositories, applying appropriate analytics methods on a per-problem basis, written and oral communication of technical concepts. Experience with cloud-based technologies, machine learning, and an understanding of healthcare data is strongly recommended.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience with SQL, Python, and git version control systems
- Experience with cloud-based, distributed data systems, i.e., Snowflake, Spark
- Experience with cloud compute systems i.e., AWS, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda
- Experience with creating data visualizations to support communication of ideas
Preferred:
¬ Experience in data pre-processing techniques for statistical and machine learning applications
¬ Experience in the healthcare industry or with healthcare data
¬ Experience with population-level analytics
¬ Experience developing presentations to convey ideas (story telling)
