Position Responsibilities

Develop machine learning, data mining, statistical, and graph-based algorithms to analyze and interpret datasets.

Prototype and evaluate multiple algorithms, selecting the final model based on performance metrics.

Create models or design experiments to generate data when training datasets are unavailable.

Generate reports and visualizations summarizing datasets and offering data-driven insights.

Collaborate with subject matter experts to transition manual data analysis processes into automated workflows.

Implement prototype algorithms within production frameworks to enhance analyst workflows.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree:

Quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, or Computer Science) with 7+ years of relevant experience.

OR



Master's Degree:

5+ years of relevant experience

OR Ph.D.:

2+ years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills

Proficient in data analysis software such as R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB.

Expertise in developing experiments to collect data or creating models to simulate data when needed.

Strong ability to develop feature vectors for machine learning algorithms.

Skilled in identifying appropriate algorithms for datasets and tuning input and model parameters.

Experience in evaluating and validating analytic performance using standard techniques (e.g., cross-validation, ROC curves, confusion matrices).

Capable of guiding analytic development processes and ensuring scalability for large datasets.

Ability to collaborate with software engineers and cloud developers to produce production-grade analytics.

Competent in developing and training machine learning systems for mission automation based on statistical data analysis.
