Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Data Scientist for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Management Consulting clients. This position is fully remote.

This is a role for an intermediate-senior level Data Scientist (6-10+ years' experience) who will join a team working on developing and building LLM models for GenAI/RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) based solutions and systems.

Responsibilities :
One of SGA's premier Management Consulting clients is looking for a REMOTE Data Scientist for a long-term contract/consulting position. This is a role for an intermediate-senior level Data Scientist (6-10+ years' experience) who will join a team working on developing and building LLM models for GenAI/RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) based solutions and systems.
- Will be involved in specific engagements involving the building of new, bespoke advanced analytical solutions for clients.
- Create innovative approaches to answer our clients' most relevant questions, to prepare complex data analyses and models that help solve client problems and deliver significant measurable impact.
- Act as an analytics translator, communicating complex data related requirements between business and IT stakeholders. You will have a strong understanding of the design and development process of data analytics tools and experience working with data engineers.
- Minimum of 6-9 years' experience with advanced knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques (regression, decision trees, clustering, neural networks, etc.). Experience in working with large datasets and relational databases is highly desirable (SQL).
- Knowledge of additional programming languages (Python most relevant, C++, Java).
- Distinctive communications skills and ability to communicate analytical and technical content in an easy to understand way.
- Extensive knowledge/experience in building RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) oriented models and systems and strong working knowledge of applications such as ChatGPT/OpenAI and similar technologies.
- Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions.
- Proven leaders with the ability in inspire others, build strong relationships, and create a true followership, result-driven achievers.
- Strong people skills, team-orientation, and a professional attitude.
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative field like Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field required.
- Advanced degree is a strong plus
