Immediate contract opportunity for Data Project Manager with direct client in New York, NY.
The Data Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operational and technical aspects of the Data to Policy Project. This includes coordinating the activities related to the Data to Policy Project website, ensuring the successful execution of data events, and working closely with various stakeholders to support data collection, analysis, and visualization efforts.
The ideal candidate will have experience in data management, technical project management, and stakeholder engagement. They will ensure that the project aligns with best practices in data governance and policy-making and deliver results on time and within scope.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Management: Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Data to Policy Project, managing timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation.
• Site Management: Oversee the management, maintenance, and updates of the Data to Policy Project website, ensuring an optimal user experience.
• Data Event Coordination: Plan and manage data-related events such as workshops, webinars, and conferences, ensuring smooth execution and engagement with stakeholders.
• Technical Oversight: Ensure technical requirements of the project, including integration of data visualization tools and analytics platforms, are met.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, UN bodies, and NGOs, to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
• Data Analysis and Visualization Support: Work closely with data analysts and developers to facilitate data collection, integration, and visualization efforts for informed decision-making.
• Documentation: Ensure project documentation is up to date, including requirements, timelines, technical specifications, and reporting.
• Compliance: Ensure that all data processes and platforms comply with relevant privacy and data governance policies.
Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Sustainable Development, Public Policy, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, ideally in data-driven or technical projects.
• Strong understanding of data management in policy making.
• Technical proficiency with content management systems (CMS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
• Experience managing websites, particularly those focused on data collection and engagement.
• Excellent event planning and management skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with policy-making processes is highly desirable.
• Prior experience working with the UN or large international organizations are an advantage.
