Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join the AJG Enterprise Data Management team as a Data Product Owner, specializing in insurance claims. AJG’s claims data is an integral part of the data landscape, providing insights and servicing to our clients. As a Data Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving the development and execution of our claims data products, ensuring they meet the needs of our organization and customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, to define product requirements, prioritize features, and deliver high-quality data products.
This role involves significant cross-functional collaboration. You will work in tandem with the IT, Finance, Operations, and external partners to populate the claims data warehouse with high quality claims data. This role is also external facing and requires interaction with our external partners to gather claims.
Key Performance Metrics: Number of carriers with direct claims feeds; match rate of claims to clients in the data warehouse; quality & completeness of claims records
- Define and prioritize the roadmap for our claims data products, aligning with the overall business strategy and goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their needs, translating them into clear and actionable product specifications.
- Work closely with data scientists and engineers to ensure the successful development and delivery of our claims data products, ensuring they meet high quality standards and deliver on time.
- Identify new ways for obtaining the claims data, through technologies such as AI or OCR.
- Lead a high-performing data product team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success in delivering high-quality data products, while promoting a collaborative and innovative culture within the team.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the data product space, ensuring our products remain competitive and innovative.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of our claims data products, making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all claims data product-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the analytics, claims, and sales teams to develop internal strategies for leveraging the claims data and support the development of external data products
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data management, bringing new ideas and best practices to the team.
Required:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in the data or analytics domain.
- Insurance industry, insurance brokerage, and/or financial services industry is required to success in this role.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, data science, or business analytics preferred. A master's degree is a plus.
- Strong understanding of data management practices, including data privacy protection, data quality, data architecture & modeling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable product specifications.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels and present to groups and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of data governance and master data management principles.
- Experience applying Data Protection rules to data, specifically, but not limited to, HIPAA, CCPA, & GDPR
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality claims products.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Knowledge of the Acord data model is a plus
- Familiarity with the following technologies: Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, Collibra, PowerBI
