Job Description:
Summary: This role acts as an acknowledged expert on data and data warehousing and reporting and is responsible for analysis, design, development, implementation and support of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and key reporting deliverables. But not limited to.
Job Description:
· Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
· Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.
· Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects.
· Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.
· Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
· Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments.
· working with database software to find ways to store, organize and manage data
· troubleshooting, keeping databases up to date, helping with database design and development managing database access, designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation, ensuring that databases meet user requirements, liaising with programmers, applications/operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff, archiving data.
· Work with identified business users to define data requirements.
· Work with other team members to design a corporate data architecture that will allow Data Services to evolve with the business.
· Define corporate metadata definitions for all Data Services supported databases (operational source systems, data stores and data marts).
· Proven ability to work with varied data infrastructures – including relational databases, column stores, NoSQL databases, and file-based storage solutions.
· Expert knowledge of SQL, can do SQL tuning
· thorough understanding of database theory and practice (ETL, OLTP, OLAP, Data Vault And Star Schema design patterns)
· Must be a team-player and be able to work closely with technical teams and business users of the Data Warehouse.
· Ability to quickly locate and analyze data.
· Ability to work effectively on multiple priorities with strict deliverable dates.
· Experience working with relational or multi-dimensional data in reporting or analytic infrastructures.
· Able to work some flexible hours, as required by Project Manager, to meet project deadlines
· Responsible for overall quality and adherence to standards
· Provide support to operations team in case of complex issues
