About the Job
The heart of the Data Manager position is to work inter-departmentally to streamline processes, minimize duplicity in how our business creates and uses data, and empower data informed decision making through the creation of easy-to-use tools and analysis. Responsible for supporting Stago North America’s commercial teams by fulfilling the functions necessary to drive internal processes and analyses in collaboration with all commercial teams. These functions include the creation and analysis of standard monthly data for Management/Field use, expanded reporting and analysis for special inquiries into business performances and trends, and assisting with support on the data systems used in Stago including Microsoft Dynamics CRM and PowerBI by assisting users on functionality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop tools, methods and processes for monitoring business functions that contribute to tracking and forecasting turnover, assessing resource utilization and allocation, tracking evolution of the installed base and market share and identifying areas for improved efficiency.
- Management of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to include generating, analyzing and monitoring reporting tools which summarize instrument and reagent opportunities, total available market opportunities, age of instrument base, instrument sales activity, sales person activity, work orders, activities on account, and developing trending analysis of above data.
- Create and analyze operational metrics; including but not limited to revenue, contract coverage, installed base with live dates, instrument and reagent sales data, sales target lists, warranty tracking, MTBRV, parts utilization, KPI tracking, and other relevant data to review the business
- Embrace a comprehensive understanding of the above results and their effect on the business and make recommendations to enhance direction and efficiency of the business
- Provide support to commercial teams by providing direction, resolving field problems and improving or creating new processes.
- Create training/support documentation and host trainings detailing how to efficiently utilize Stago’s enterprise systems (ie. CRM, PowerBI, Ecobuilder, etc.)
- Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of our database system by ensuring network alignment of our customer accounts and by managing territory assignments.
- Identify organizational areas of concern within our processes and develop alternative plans to improve through simplicity/efficiency.
- Work with commercial leadership teams to make recommendations to HQ on improvements and enhancements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the use of M3 for data modules that relate to the commercial business and how that feeds downstream reports and data access
- Participate in other special projects as need with inter-departmental projects including finance, services, IT, supply chain and executive team as needed.
- Develop tools, methods and procedures for business process tracking
- Produce and analyze reports (periodic and special projects)
- Prepare written observations, conclusions and recommendations related to analysis and reporting.
- Develop and document processes to track programs for improvement developed as a result of reporting
- Special projects as assigned.
Education & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required; with 2-3 years related experience
- Individual must have advanced proficiency in utilization of the Microsoft Office Suite; especially Excel.
- Must be able to effectively create and utilize pivot tables.
- Previous use of a Customer Relationship Management system a plus. Also, should have knowledge of Business Intelligence SAP analytics and reporting software; Instrument order processing system (STAR).
- Up to 10% travel, occasionally overnight.
Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional Abilities, and journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write qualifications reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of profit and loss, market share and ROI. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Individual must possess good organizational skills with attention to detail and be able to prioritize projects.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills are required to interact within marketing and cross functions. Individual must be self motivated, work independently and be driven to exceed.
