Job Overview
The Data Entry Technician primarily is focused on communicating with our physician practices and customers. You will be processing prescriptions and payments for orders in a timely and effective manner before sending them to the pharmacist for disbursement to production or the laboratory. This is a full-time position based at our Carolina Park or Seaside Farms location.
Compensation based on experience and credentials
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Key prescription orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Accurately gather and review customer’s billing/shipping information before an order is keyed.
- Responsible for contacting physician offices and patients to review and update their profile and insurance.
- Promptly responds to all customer inquiries and re-directs to applicable departments as needed.
- Promptly handle and resolve customer complaints in a professional manner.
- Urgently communicate with customers when orders have been delayed, cancelled or interrupted.
- Communicate payment requirements.
- Maintains compliance with company and HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements.
- Manage the SweetSync medication refill synchronization program.
- May work in different areas of the pharmacy such as retail production, laboratory or cashier when needed.
- Other Duties As Assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years related experience
- State Pharmacy Technician Registration required
- CPhT State Certification Required
- Independent Pharmacy preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to ensure accuracy of entering patient information
- Pleasant demeanor and ability to handle a variety of customer service issues.
- Must be collaborative and able to perform as part of a team.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
- Pharmacy Software – Pioneer a plus
- Ability to learn new software and programs (SweetSync)
- Ability to be coached
