JOB TITLE: Data Entry/ Filing Clerk
JOB LOCATION:Boston, MA
WAGE RANGE*: 28 - 30/ hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Case Services, the temporary Staff Assistant works in close collaboration with the Associate Director and other members of the team as needed and has the following responsibilities:
• Administrative Support with Departmental Paper and Digital Files
• Assist in reorganizing existing file structure for department's electronic project files
• Review, organize, and prepare batches of departmental paper project files for scanning by vendor
• Review vendor's scanning work and ensure smooth integration of scanned files into existing departmental digital files
• Use equipment on site to scan and save additional departmental records for electronic storage and retrieval
• Liaise with scanning vendor, archiving staff in Baker Library, and other teams as necessary to ensure record-keeping standards are met and original paper files are properly retained
• Document the work involved in the scanning project so that work is done consistently
Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Education beyond high school may count toward experience
• 3+ years of related experience
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat experience is a must

Additional Information
This role is 35 hours per week and is overtime eligible. 6-month tenure, with the potential to extend for another 6-month term.

Accurately enters data to computer files or database systems by typing or scanning. Create large spreadsheets or data tables in spreadsheet, database, word processing, statistical or business software without mistakes. Verify data entry by checking own work or the work of others by comparing it to source documents. Updates existing sets of data. Retrieves data from a database or electronic files as requested. Perform regular backups to ensure entered data is saved. Organizes and files source paperwork after entering data. Photocopy, scan, organize alphabetize and file paper documents. Fast, accurate keyboarding is required. Working knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets such as MS Office Word and Excel. Working knowledge of office equipment, desktop hardware and peripheral devices such as printers and copiers. Basic understanding of databases and spreadsheets. Good command of English, with good customer service skills. Great attention to detail.
