Data Entry and Communications Specialist - Elite Personnel

America’s largest and most diverse union, located on Capitol Hill, is seeking a Data Entry and Communications Specialist in their Affiliates & Automated Records Department.

 In this role your primary responsibility would be to cover the main switchboard.  During periods of downtime, you will also assist with indexing documents into the electronic database.

 Responsibilities:

• Answer all incoming calls, using proper telephone etiquette.
• Receives and distributes all messages to proper individuals.
• Assists in indexing of files – general correspondence.
• Enters Department files into computer database.
• Reviews Department files and administrative files; determines appropriate index and sets up files.
• Inventories, orders, and stocks department supplies.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to type 35wpm.
• One year’s administrative experience required. 
• Excellent oral, written, proofreading, and editing skills required.
